I lost my one year old!!

My just turned one year old weighs 17.5 pounds.  As of Monday, I've lost 18 pounds .  That's more than my baby!! I'm training as much as possible - Monday/Wednesday/Thursday is Master's swim team, I try to get gym workouts on those days as well. Tuesday is a long run - to and from daycare: 6.25 miles.  My next race is 8/11/12 - Lake Tye Olympic distance.  I'm a little  lot nervous.  There's a 4 hour cut off.  My goal is to finish under 3.5 hours.  But I'm still nervous.  My bike training is non-existent:  having someone watch the baby while I go ride my bike around has been a challenge.  Everything else I do I have childcare arranged but the "extra" time of riding has been difficult.  Oh well. My eating has been great.  No candy since the beginning of March, no chips/salty foods since the end of March.  It hasn't been easy.  It's getting easier though.  I can only hope that someday it will be easy. 48 d...

Update #2 - weigh in and pictures!

So I weighed in this morning - 192.2 Yes, I actually went on vacation and came home LIGHTER - I'm more excited than I can begin to explain.  So many times - even at home - I feel like I'm on track, doing all the right things, get on the scale and WHAM - no loss or a gain for no explainable reason.  So the fact that I was able to stay on track AND lose weight while on vacation...that reinforces the fact that abstinence is working for me.  Long term.  Here are some progress pictures: 192.2 pounds my butt isn't just smaller but the dimpling is going away - I'm amazed - simply amazed! Say hello to my boxer dog: Houdini! My Calves!!  I can't get a good shot...but this gives you some idea... Work in the morning - after a week off (I've never taken a week off before!) - I'm not looking forward to it but oh well - got to pay the bills! Time to go watch a movie and hang out with hubby! Friday night - I made it through!

Must be PMS - but everything is calling my name.  Work was hard - but I made it.  Grocery shopping was hard - but I made it.  Dinner was good and now I'm snacking on a few almonds - but I'm making it!!  Tomorrow is boot camp and a long bike ride - the bike ride will put me at goal for my OctoberFAST challenge and I'll need to get a good swim in as well.   Starting Monday, after OctoberFAST, I will be reducing my training schedule.  The frequency will be less and the distances just slightly longer.  I'm having a hard time committing to the frequency - but the distances are all manageble.  So I'm changing it up a little.  I'm still planning on a half ironman next summer so the training is still neccassary. Food wise I'm struggling a little - I've got cravings, if you can call it that...I really want candy and junk.  It's been life saving to be abstaining from them.  My brain has been pulling out the old tricks...you can have ...

So much to say part 1) - challenge check ins

during my swim today - I came up with a great post!  And I have several awards to aknowledge and pass along - and then there's the 3 challenges that I'm in to update today!  I'm drowing in words and need to find more time!  It's funny how the more I spend time training, the more I have to say.  But the more I spend time training, the less TIME I have to say it!! So - for now - Challenge updates! so - let me start with OctoberFast Goals: swim: 24,000 yards bike: 200 miles run: 50 miles Total so far: Week 1 swim: 8450 yards bike: 50.4 miles run: 17.92 miles Week 2 totals Swim: 12,250 yards (11,750 to go) Bike: 65.4 miles (145.6 to go) run: 22.92 miles (27.08 to go) I've missed some of my running workouts, that's just life.  I'm making up for it this weekend so look for some big jumps next week!! Next Go The Distance Challenge goal: 50 miles run in October Total so far: 22.92 Again - I have some running to catch up on so this weekend...

Friday - updates - weigh in - deep breath

I'm in THREE challenges - which isn't bad - they're all somewhat related.  And they're all weight loss related.  So it's all good. I realized this morning that while I was frustrated last night - I remembered that I DID NOT eat the ice cream.  That's what made me sad.  But I should be happy that I remembered and resisted!  So today that's what I'm focusing on! Having my tri-training in full swing is helping me stay on track.  Food wise I'm actually not as hungry when I'm working out (go figure) and I think that the no-sugar is helping with that as well.  typically my day goes something like this:  7:30 arrive at work/eat breakfast.  10am - snack noon - lunch 2:30 - snack dinner is anywhere from 6pm to 9pm I also eat a piece of toast with peanut butter before a workout.  Lately I have been skipping the snacks - not intentionally - I just forget.  They were hunger driven (I believe in eating when you're hungry when at all...

Numbers - good and bad...

Let's get the bad out of the way - my brain is just rehashing and rehashing on this one... I mapped my running last night on dailymile.com - and the loop I was doing that I thought was a mile was only .88   OK - it should be a big deal that missing .12, right?  But it brings my mile time down from 12 minutes to 14.  .12 miles is playing huge tricks on my brain.  I'm ALL about numbers.  Pounds, miles, sizes, math, numbers numbers numbers - my world revolves around numbers.  So this is really kicking my butt.  It shouldn't.  And if this were someone else's blog and someone else's sad news of the day - I would tell them to "buck up" and be proud they're out there running.  And maybe by tomorrow I'll take my own advice.  But today I'm bummed.  *deeep breath!!* Ok - and on to the good numbers!!  Scale.  My work is paying off.  209.2 this morning.  Total loss of over 30 pounds now!!  30.8 to be precise....
