Today starts no sugar

This feels harder than no candy and no chips. And it started by throwing the oreos in the GARBAGE. And not the trash at my house - no, these went into the trash at the bus stop. Bye bye.
(I'm imagining some homeless dude chowing down on his amazing find...)
Now I need to grocery shop and fill my house with fruits and veggies!

They weren't the cute orange ones for Halloween were they. Or worse, the double stuffd. OMG, I need an Oreo so badly. I actually like the cookie part, without the cream. I am so sick... Please, send me a cookie..And by the way, great idea..

Oh Allan - if we ever fall off the wagon together we're goign to have to meet for a package of oreos...only double stuff...I'll eat only the creme and you can have the cookie. (there were wafer only cookies left in the pack I threw away - I eat the creme first out of several cookies and then...oh hell, that sounds to damn awful, doesn't it!?)

You put them back. In the bag, all naked and with no creme. OMG. Who eats the wafers, hours or days, after you have licked them clean ? Wow, I could go on ....

Usually I eat 2 or 3 creme fillings, then, out of pure guilt (probably left over from being picked last in gym) I'll eat those 2 or 3 empty oreos. Then repeat. At the time of the cookie toss, I had probably 2 or 3 empty oreos in there. And if we share, I promise not to lick - there will be sanitary measures used :P

Why ANYONE would tamper with God's perfect creation the OREO, I have no idea. You can both stay away from my Oreo! I eat them whole with ice cold milk. OMG!!! Thanks a lot you two!!! Damn! Now all I can think about is OREOs. Crap.

Hey- ever tried the white chocolate dipped ones. So good I could cry.

(apology in advance - or is it too late - for all this oreo talk!)

I've had the fudge dipped ones. But even better than that are what I call "oreo balls" - also known as "oreo Truffles" (for the more polite I suppose...)

receipe

one pack oreos
one package cream cheese

mix all together in mixer (not blender - eww..). then use cookie scoop to make "balls" of the mixture - refigerate and then dip balls in almond bark or melted chocolate.

My entire family would commit crimes for these treats.

Brave, brave woman....but you can do this. I know you can.
You can do it! I just caved and had a bowl of ice cream...blargh. But, we'll do it.

Thanks for the inspiration.

You can do it! I love that you picked a distant trash can, no turning back.

I'm thankful that Oreos don't do anything for me. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups - now don't get me started on those - that' my Oreo.

Good luck!

I think I'm going to join you on this journey. My neighbor and I were sitting around a bonfire last night, and when my roommate brought out the cookies, he mentioned he hasn't had sugar since some time in 2008. I was in awe...and inspired. He coaxed me, saying if he could do it...anyone can. Then today- after a plate of cookies last night- my scale ballooned my weight and after the tantrum I threw...I decided that maybe I should reconsider this non sugar lifestyle once again...

So good luck to you on your journey- and good luck to me. I'm with you girl!!!

Time to come clean - and start blogging again with NEWS!

I've been avoiding the blogging world - for a couple reasons.  My eating has been horrible.  Well, maybe not horrible but definately not brag-worthy or blog-worthy.  I've been embarassed at how much I've regressed back into old eating habits. The other reason is I've been keeping a secret but it's time to come clean.  I've been gaining weight - only a little - and with my doctor's full permission.  As of today, I'm 16weeks 4 days pregnant, and this one's here to stay!  I'm excited.  And nervous. And sick as a dog with morning sickness.  I've used all of the above as an excuse to jump off the wagon (and load it with junk food to drag around with me all day).  I've had chips and candy and sugar - and not in small quantities.  I now weight 205.  Up from 190.  But holding steady and fully aware of the changes I need to make - again. Mostly my problem is that I have morning sickness 24 hours a day.  It's like really bad motion sickness

8k Race report - the details!

As a "big girl" the first thing I look for is how many runners there are as big or bigger than me. It's just what I do. At a 5k, there are usually a number of women bigger than me and many my size. Today that wasn't the case. Apparently adding 3k eliminates a lot of plus size runners. I did not see anyone my size. My husband told me there were a few other big girls running - but I didn’t' see them. Talk about a head trip - I was really nervous! The announcer released my group and we're off! Less than a quarter mile in, I realized that I may not have thought this race all the way through. Let me just mention, I'm scared of heights. I used to be terrified of heights - now I'm just scared. I mostly do fine with them but bridges still can bring on a panic attack for me. The name of this race: Beat the Bridge. Um. Like I said, I may have overlooked part of the planning this race out. So less than a quarter mile from the start, there's a bridge - n

coming out of my slump - and a new puppy!

I've been in a slump - blog silence on my end usually means just that.  I've been struggling to keep up my healthy eating and I haven't been working out.  My weight has stayed the same but that's NOT my goal in this journey.  I'm hanging out at 191 still - so close to 180's.  But I'm really mentally struggling.  It's been cold.  I've been exhausted.  I haven't felt 100% well.  I've got a million other excuses.  I've spent 42 years making excuses.  I'm a freaking Excuse Expert.  I'm signed up for a 5k on 12/12 - so I'd better get my butt in gear.  I'm contemplating a 1/2 marathon in April - I'd better get my butt in gear.  I've lost 49 pounds and have 41 more to go - I'd better get my butt in gear. If only it were as easy to DO as it were to say.  I've cheated on my abstinence foods - sugar AND candy.  Still no chips - as if there's solace in that.  But today's a new day and Day 1 again.  And to
